The role of the Coach is vital to the future of the game and the development of golfers of any age and ability. The Coach is ideally a PGA Member, however many Clubs rely on volunteer Community Instructors to perform this role, as many clubs in Australia are not serviced by a PGA Member.
A structured Community Golf Instructor Education Pathway currently exists in Australia with instructor coaching courses being held in all States and Territories.
A Community Golf Instructor may also receive expenses, payment or compensation for giving golf instruction at a rate up to $50.00 per hour and to a maximum of $15,000 per year as part of a Program that has been approved by Golf Australia without affecting their Amateur Status.
